As of 3:52 p.m., the fire was knocked down at Park Boulevard and northbound state Highway 13 near Holy Names University.
Fire officials said the fire burned about 1.5 acres.
CHP officials said northbound Highway 13 will be closed until about 6 p.m. while firefighters finish their work.
