Police said Saturday they have made one arrest in the death of an Australian tourist who died following a fight Friday morning in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood.
Police have not released the suspect’s name or any other information about the person.
Matthew Bate, 33, from the Woolner Northern Territory in Australia was the victim.
Police said Bate died following an argument that began at about 2:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of Van Ness Avenue that escalated to a fight.
Bate died at a hospital following the fight. Police said there are multiple suspects and Friday they had detained two.
