More than two dozen San Francisco restaurants and businesses are banding together to raise funds to help support Tim and Erin Archuleta, owners of Ichi Sushi along Mission Street in Bernal Heights.
After a series of recent health issues, chef Tim stepped away from his acclaimed kitchen before the couple decided to move the heralded restaurant back to its original and smaller location at 3369 Mission Street.
The sold-out event will be held at the top of 100 Van Ness Avenue on Monday, and will feature food and drinks plus live entertainment and a raffle. According to the event page, prizes will be featured from top restaurants in The City, ranging from a dinner for two at the Michelin-starred Michael Mina to a grand prize of dinner for a year from other local restaurants.
Ryan Cole, San Francisco restaurant owner and benefit organizer said:
“The response from the the community is a testament to (Tim and Erin’s) reach in The City. … We sold all 250 tickets in about 30 hours.”
Though the event is sold out, Cole said there are still plenty of ways for people to help, like buying raffle tickets and by pledging to the Archuletas GoFundMe page, where people can donate money and show support.
Gwyneth Borden, executive director of the Golden Gate Restaurant Association said:
“Everyone is really stepping up and trying to do as much as they can. … But the most important and best thing that people can do to help; is to eat at Ichi Sushi.”
The event and raffle will take place Monday between 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. You can still buy raffle tickets and see a list of prizes on the event page.
Erin Archeluta told SFBay:
“We feel unbelievably grateful and completely supported by the restaurant industry. … It is really spectacular that they are willing to take care of their own and take care of us.”
