A fire broke out in an office building late Tuesday night in San Jose, fire officials said.
At 10:28 p.m., firefighters received a report of a structure on fire located at 540 Bird Ave., just south of Interstate Highway 280.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire coming from the first floor of a two-story office building.
According to Capt. Mike Van Elgort, fire crews made an aggressive attack, and at 11:02 p.m. the fire was knocked down and under control.
The fire caused heavy damage to the first floor, but the building remains intact, said Capt. Van Elgort.
Crews are currently on the scene investigating the cause of the fire. There were no injuries.
