A woman was seriously injured in San Francisco’s Chinatown on Monday when a neighbor struck her with a frying pan handle, police said.
The assault occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. when the victim, a 63-year-old woman, was washing dishes in the common area of a building in the 800 block of Clay Street, police said.
A neighbor allegedly grabbed the victim from behind and struck her with a metal object, which police have identified as a frying pan handle, and then jumped on her and hit her repeatedly.
The suspect also allegedly choked the victim, causing her to pass out.
The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police have arrested a 67-year-old woman, whose identity was not immediately released Tuesday.
