Petaluma pedestrian dies after crash
A man who suffered major injuries after a car struck him while he was walking along a Petaluma street Friday evening died from his injuries the following day.

A man who suffered major injuries after a car struck him while he was walking along a Petaluma street Friday evening died from his injuries the following day, according to police.
The victim was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after the crash but succumbed to his injuries Saturday afternoon, around 4:20 p.m., police said.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Andres Solario of Petaluma, according to police.
On Friday, around 7:45 p.m., Solario was walking west in the bike lane of 500 block of Lakeville Street when a 2015 Volkswagen Golf struck him, police said.
The impact threw Solario about 50 feet, according to police.
Solario was reportedly wearing dark clothing when he was struck, police said.
The Volkswagen’s driver, a 27-year-old Petaluma man, cooperated with the investigation. The driver consented to a blood draw at Petaluma Valley Hospital and investigators determined alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision, police said.
