A 53-year-old Dixon man was killed as he was driving his motorcycle between vehicles in two lanes of traffic on westbound Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo Thursday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The Dixon man riding a black Harley-Davidson FLHX between a Nissan Titan driven by a Fairfield woman in the westbound far left lane and a Freightliner commercial truck pulling a flatbed trailer driven by a Sacramento man in the No. 2 lane around 6:25 a.m., CHP Officer David Harvey said.
The motorcycle collided with the Nissan, ejecting the Dixon man who then was struck by the Freightliner, Harvey said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released because his next of kin had not been contacted as of noontime Thursday, according to the Solano County coroner’s office.
