A gauge in Oakland recorded .78 inches while Tilden Park in Contra Costa County received .87 inches, weather service officials said.
At Point Reyes in Marin County, 1.28 inches fell while on Mt. Saint Helena in Napa County 1.5 inches fell, according to weather service data.
The unincorporated Sonoma County community of Venado, seven miles north northwest of Guerneville, received 2.48 inches, which was the most of any reported location in the Bay Area, weather service data show.
Forest Hill in San Francisco reported .84 inches, weather service officials said.
Mt. Umunhum in Santa Clara County reported .59 inches while a gauge in San Mateo County collected .75 inches.
Solano County topped out at .23 inches reported in Vallejo, weather service officials in Monterey said.
National Weather Service meteorologist Larry Smith said the recent rain in the Bay Area has been good for alleviating drought conditions while avoiding flooding.
It’s good bit of rain over a long period of time, Smith said:
“A nice soaking rain.”
Rain remains in the forecast for much of the next week, including a chance of precipitation on Christmas Day.
