A man was shot and killed in West Oakland on Sunday night, the fifth victim killed by gunfire in Oakland in a week, police said Monday.
The victim killed Sunday was one of two men shot in the 2400 block of Chestnut Street at 8:49 p.m., police said. They both arrived at a hospital, where one of them died and the other is in stable condition, according to police.
Police have not identified any suspects or made any arrests in the case Four other victims have been fatally shot on Oakland streets over the last week. At 12:35 a.m. last Tuesday, 22-year-old Rey D. Flores was killed in the 8300 block of International Boulevard, police said.
Then on Wednesday, two men were killed in the 2300 block of 88th Avenue at 10:06 p.m.
At about 9:45 p.m. Friday, another victim was killed nearly in the same spot that Flores was killed Tuesday.
Police haven’t made arrests in any of the past week’s homicides and have not identified four of the victims as of this morning.
