Emergency crews responded at 3:19 p.m. to the Alta Torre Apartments at 3895 Fabian Way after receiving a report there was a person in need of medical assistance inside an elevator car, police said. Firefighters located a man in his 60s inside the elevator suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
The man had a semi-automatic handgun in his lap and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers responded to the scene at 3:28 p.m., searched the area and discovered a deceased man in his 70s inside a first-floor office, police said. Police said the man had been shot multiple times.
The circumstances of the deaths are still under investigation, but police do not believe anyone else was involved in the crime. Both men lived at the facility, according to police. Their identities were not immediately available Thursday night.
