San Francisco firefighters rescued a 17-year-old off a cliff near China Beach Friday afternoon, a San Francisco Fire Department spokeswoman said.
The first report of the incident at Painted Rock near the China Beach area came in at 4:14 p.m., spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said. The report said the teen fell off a cliff but was stable on a cliff below, Talmadge said. Rescuers called for a rescue boat because they decided it was best to rescue the juvenile from the water.
As the boat was on its way to the scene, a rescuer was lowered to the scene and remained there until the boat arrived, Talmadge said.
Rescuers removed the teen at about 4:56 p.m. Talmadge said so far there are no reports of any injuries, but an ambulance is at the scene.
