A man suspected of three burglaries in two separate office buildings in Pleasanton was arrested last week, a police detective said.
Martin Monroe, 52, of Oakland, was arrested on Thursday in connection with the burglaries that occurred on Jan. 5, Pleasanton police Detective Brandon Stocking said.
Surveillance cameras captured the suspect, later identified as Monroe, entering employee-only areas of both buildings, Stocking said.
At one of the buildings, Monroe was allegedly “piggy-backing” one of the employees who used an access card to get through locked doors, according to Stocking.
Once Monroe was inside, he allegedly stole wallets and other valuables in unoccupied offices during regular business hours, the detective said.
Monroe had been out on $100,000 bail when he committed the alleged burglaries, according to police.
Pleasanton police detectives spotted Monroe as he was leaving the Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland on Thursday when he was arrested on suspicion of burglary and committing a felony while released on bail for a previous felony, Stocking said.
He was booked into Santa Rita Jail, police said.
Anyone with additional information on the burglaries is asked to call Pleasanton police at (925) 931-5100.
