A motorcyclist died Saturday evening after sideswiping a car and colliding with a pedestrian in San Francisco’s Civic Center neighborhood, police said.
Officers responded to a report from a caller who told a Fire Department dispatcher around 5 p.m. that a motorcyclist sideswiped a black Lexus in the area of McAllister Street and Van Ness Avenue, the dispatcher said.
UPDATE 1/12 Motorcyclist killed in Civic Center crash identified.The impact of the collision caused the motorcyclist to crash into a pedestrian, police said. The pedestrian suffered injuries not considered life threatening, but police said the motorcyclist died from wounds suffered in the collision.
The area was blocked off Saturday evening pending an investigation, police said.
