A Newark man blew several of his fingers off with a firecracker early on New Year’s Day, police said Friday.
An officer was flagged down in the 6700 block of Cedar Boulevard at 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 1., Newark police said. The 28-year-old man had blown off several fingers while lighting an illegal M-80 or M-1000 firecracker, police said.
He was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.
