Oakland police are outside a home this morning on the 300 block of Catron Drive waiting for a man with a gun who is refusing to come out, said police.
Firefighters responded to the home after a report of a car fire at 5:51 p.m. Saturday evening.
Firefighters saw the armed man as they were extinguishing the fire and called police. The man went back into a house and Moore said he has been there ever since:
“We’re waiting him out. There’s no hurry to go in there.”
Police have identified the man, but Moore said he did not know whether the suspect has had any prior arrests.
Police are not aware of any injuries at this time.
