Police arrest woman suspected of fatally stabbing mother

A 27-year-old woman suspected of fatally stabbing her mother in San Jose was arrested Sunday afternoon after police said she called them to report the killing.
The suspect called police about 12:20 p.m. from a home in the 4800 block of Springdale Drive, in the city’s Strawberry Park neighborhood, according to San Jose police.
Officers found a woman with at least one stab wound who had died at the scene. Her name and age were not released, but police said she told them the victim was her mother.
The woman remained at the home and was taken into custody without incident, police said. She was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of homicide.
No other information about the incident was released. The death is San Jose’s third homicide this year.
