Police in San Francisco are investigating a bank robbery that happened Thursday afternoon in the city’s Bayview District.
Around 4:30 p.m., officers learned of a bank robbery happening in the U.S. Bank at 4947 3rd St.
Witnesses told officers a suspect walked in and demanded cash from the teller. The teller complied and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.
No arrest has been made in the case. The suspect has been described by police as a man in his 20s but a more detailed description was not immediately available.
Anyone with information about the bank robbery is being asked to call the Police Department’s tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
