Magnitude 6.2 earthquake near Eureka felt across Northern California

An earthquake measuring 6.2 struck off the coast of Humboldt County in Northern California on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was recorded at 12:10 p.m., about 6 miles deep, in the Pacific Ocean about 40 miles southwest of Eureka.

People reported feeling the quake as far away as San Francisco, but there have been no reports of damage.

A tsunami warning has not been issued.
