A person reported to be in the water near San Francisco’s Ferry Building on Tuesday morning has died, city fire officials said.
The San Francisco Fire Department initially wrote on social media shortly after 8:20 a.m. about a rescue operation underway involving firefighters, police and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Fire officials said about 15 minutes later that the person had died. No other information was immediately available about how the victim ended up in the water.
