Bicyclist dies in Bascom Avenue collision

A bicyclist died in a collision with a vehicle in San Jose on Monday morning, police said.

The collision was reported about 10:20 a.m. on Bascom Avenue near Interstate Highway 880.

The bicyclist, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Officers said the driver of the vehicle cooperated with the investigation and there was no evidence of drug or alcohol impairment.
