Police investigate Chinatown graffiti as possible hate crime

Graffiti found in Oakland’s Chinatown last week is being investigated as a possible hate crime, police said Monday.

The vandalism occurred at a market on the 300 block of 7th Street between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers are searching for and collecting any video footage that may have captured the offense, according to police.
