Fox Theater cancels Wednesday show after nearby shooting

A woman was wounded in a shooting near Oakland’s Fox Theater on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Police are investigating the shooting that occurred just before 2:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Telegraph Avenue.

The victim was taken to a hospital where she was in stable condition, according to police.

A concert at the theater was canceled following the shooting, theater officials announced on Twitter Wednesday.

The tweet said:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight’s show with @AllTimeLow is cancelled.” 

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Department’s felony assault unit at (510) 238-3426.
