Vallejo police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead Friday night.
Officers responded Friday at 11:38 p.m. to a report of shots fired in the 300 block of Reis Avenue. There, they located a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim, a 41-year-old Vallejo resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
The victim’s name is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
The police department’s Detective Division has taken over the investigation. No other information about the shooting was immediately available. This is the city’s 16th homicide of 2021. However, an autopsy report is still pending in a suspicious death investigation stemming from an August incident.
