Live fire training exercises, including a simulation of a plane fire, are taking place next week at Buchanan Field Airport in Concord, Contra Costa County officials said.
The training with aircraft rescue firefighting crews is part of an annual requirement to maintain Federal Aviation Administration certification for the airport, which is operated by the county’s Public Works Department.
Exercises will happen Monday through Friday next week on the west side of the airport, and the county is advising people to not call 911 if they see anything related to the exercises. Anyone with questions or concerns about the exercises can call (844) 349-8687.
