One person was wounded in a shooting late Wednesday morning near McClymonds High School in West Oakland but students, teachers and staff were unhurt, police and school district officials said.
Oakland police said the shooting happened just before 11:45 a.m. in the 2600 block of Myrtle Street. McClymonds High School is located at 2607 Myrtle St.
The school was locked down, Oakland Unified School District spokesman John Sasaki said.
Police said no other details were immediately available.
