San Francisco police are investigating two separate homicides that occurred over the weekend.
The first incident happened Friday night at approximately 10:29 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Grove and Webster streets, just two blocks from Alamo Square. When they arrived, officers located a 29-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said officers rendered aid to the victim and summoned medics who took the victim to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.
In a tweet Saturday afternoon, Supervisor Dean Preston said:
“We are shocked and saddened by this horrible act and the tragic loss of life. The victim, reportedly on a motorcycle or dirt bike at the time, was shot and was transported to SF General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.”
The second homicide occurred early Saturday at 12:19 a.m. Officers responded to the 3200 block of 22nd Street in the Mission District and found two adult males with suffering from stab wounds. Officers rendered aid to both victims and medics took the victims to the hospital.
One victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The other man, 34, died from his injuries at the hospital, police said.
Police are asking the public for any information about the incidents to call SFPD’s Tip Line at (415) 575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
