North Oakland shooting leaves Berkeley man in grave condition

A Berkeley man was in grave condition following a shooting Wednesday evening in North Oakland near Emeryville, police said Thursday.

Officers responded at 6:07 p.m. to the 5700 block of Los Angeles Street after the city’s gunshot detection system recorded the sounds of multiple rounds.

Officers located the Berkeley man. He was suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to Highland Hospital in grave condition, according to police.

An investigation is underway and anyone with information about the shooting can call the Police Department’s homicide unit at (510) 238-3821.
