San Francisco on Friday morning announced a network outage that is affecting 911, 311 and other city services.
The city’s 911 call-taking capacity is limited, and city agencies are investigating the outage, the city said in an alert shortly before 8:30 a.m. In a Twitter message, the Department of Emergency Management urged people to keep lines open for emergencies and said uncompleted calls will be returned by 911 dispatch. The department said the outage is “of unknown origin.”
A press conference to discuss the outage will be held at Civic Center Plaza at 11 a.m.
No other details were immediately available.
