Police arrest two men suspected of three robberies in one hour

Two Hayward men were arrested on suspicion of three robberies in an hour in Fremont on Saturday night, police said.

Julio Cruz, 32, and 18-year-old Konnor Gutierres were arrested following the alleged spree that started at a 7-Eleven store on Fremont Boulevard.

Officers were sent at 8:44 p.m. to 35015 Fremont Blvd. following a report that a man with a gun stole cash and other items from the store, according to police.

About 45 minutes later, police got a call from Burger King at 46700 Mission Blvd.

A man pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at an employee and demanded cash from the register, police said.

Officers also took a report from a witness who gave them a description of a car speeding away from the restaurant, according to police. That information was broadcast to other law enforcement agencies.

At 9:37 p.m., police received a 911 call from someone reporting a robbery at the Mission Pass Shell gas station at 42816 Mission Blvd.

Police said the description of the suspects matched that from the robbery at 7-Eleven.

Officers located the car allegedly used in the robberies at Mission Boulevard and Appian Way in Union City, according to police.

At Bob’s Discount Liquor No. 8 at 101 Appian Way, officers surrounded the building. One suspect went inside the store while one stayed in the car and officers arrested both Cruz and Gutierres on suspicion of felony robbery, police said.

Anyone with information about the robberies can call Fremont police at (510) 790-6800 or send an anonymous tip at https://local.nixle.com/tip/alert/6216337 or by texting TIP FREMONTPD followed by the tip to 888-777.
