Woman suffers injuries in Highway 80 shooting

A woman driving on Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo Sunday was injured when someone shot at her from another vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The woman was driving west on Highway 80, east of Redwood Street, when someone in a dark sedan drove up along the left side of her car and opened fire, hitting her Infinity sedan multiple times.

Both cars then got off the freeway at Redwood Street. The woman drove to a Chevron gas station and called 911 while the shooter fled in a direction unknown to the victim, according to the CHP.

The woman was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

The CHP didn’t say if she was shot or if her injuries were from flying glass or other debris that may have hit her as a result of bullets striking her car.

Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP tip line at (707) 917-4491.
