Dry, gusty winds elevate this week’s Bay Area fire risk

The National Weather Service issued a Fire Weather Watch for the North Bay interior mountain and East Bay hills areas beginning Tuesday evening.

Dry, gusty north-northeast winds will be most problematic at elevations above 1,000 feet and are forecast through Wednesday morning. According to NWS, the greatest threat will be in the northeast hills of Napa County. Little impact is expected in coastal regions,

Current forecasting shows this week’s temperatures hovering in the high 80s to low 90s in the greatest fire risk areas.
