Crews stop forward progress on fire near Lake Herman

Crews stopped the forward progress of a two-alarm vegetation fire that was burning Friday afternoon near Lake Herman in Benicia, according to the city’s Fire Department.

The blaze was reported at 3:22 p.m. in the area of Lake Herman and West Channel roads. Other agencies also responded, including Cal Fire with an aircraft, Benicia fire officials said.

The Fire Department wrote on Twitter about 15 minutes later that crews had stopped the flames from spreading further. No structures burned and no injuries were reported.
