A shooting broke out at a birthday party in San Leandro early Thursday morning after police had been called out for a loud music complaint.
Three people were shot at a birthday party held at a banquet hall in San Leandro early Thursday morning, according to police.
Officers had initially gone to the banquet hall in the 15200 block of Hesperian Boulevard around 11 p.m. Wednesday to respond to a loud music complaint and requested that the music be turned down, police said.
Then at about 2 a.m., several 911 calls came in about a shooting at the same location and police found a large crowd leaving the banquet hall, although no one said what happened.
Officers eventually located more than 30 shell casings from two different types of ammunition at the scene and learned that three people went to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detectives Joe Kalsbeek or Joanna Villa at (510) 577-3274.
