A suspect turned himself in and was arrested Saturday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 76-year-old man in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, police said.
According to a police statement, Ryan Souva of San Francisco arrived at the Richmond Police Station around 11:42 a.m. Saturday and asked to be arrested “because he had just stabbed someone.” Souva told police that the incident happened inside the victim’s apartment on the 1500 block of Folsom Street.
When officers responded to the residence to conduct a well-being check, they found the victim suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound. The man, who has not been publicly identified, died at the scene.
Souva was booked shortly after at San Francisco County Jail on one count of murder.
