An airplane crashed into a house in Monterey County on Tuesday morning, county fire officials said.
The Monterey County Regional Fire District wrote on Twitter shortly after 11:10 a.m. about the crash in the Monterra Ranch neighborhood near Monterey Regional Airport and state Highway 68.

The fire district said crews were working to put out the structure fire caused by the plane crash as well as flames that spread to nearby brush.
No information was immediately available about the plane and the status of those on board or if anyone was in the home where the aircraft crashed.
