Two men have been charged in connection with the killing of a young Pittsburg man in December, police said.
Shane Loudon, 20, of Concord, and 22-year-old Steven Falkenstine, of Walnut Creek, have both been charged with murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old Malik Pittman.
Both Loudon and Falkenstine allegedly have ties to a gang, according to police.
Pittman went missing in the early evening hours of Dec. 29 and his body was discovered on the morning of New Year’s Eve in Salinas. Police said Pittman suffered several gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Apparently, Pittman decided to meet the Loudon and Falkenstine for reasons unknown to police. Police also do not know the relationship the three had.
Police said Pittman got in the backseat of Falkenstine’s car on Dec. 29 and was shot in the 400 block of East Santa Fe Avenue. Loudon and Falkenstine then drove away with Pittman still in the car, according to police.
Loudon and Falkenstine have been booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
