Both suspect, Stockton police officer die in Tuesday shooting

A Stockton police officer and another man died in a shooting on Tuesday morning, police said.

Stockton police shortly before 10:40 a.m. reported on social media an officer-involved shooting in the 4400 block of La Cresta Way.

The officer and suspect were taken to a hospital, and shortly after 1 p.m., the department announced that both had died from their injuries.

More details are expected to be released about the case at a briefing planned for later Tuesday.
