A man died in a solo car crash on Sunday afternoon in West San Jose, police said.
San Jose police responded about 3 p.m. to Williams Road near the San Tomas Expressway, where a man driving a 2014 Porsche had apparently lost control and crashed into a tree.
He was taken to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries, police said.
A preliminary investigation found that the man had been headed eastbound on Williams Road before the crash.
His identity has not been released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The death marks the city’s 12th fatal traffic collision this year.
