Stabbing victim in stable condition after Saturday night mugging attack

A 53-year-old man was taken to a hospital in stable condition after being stabbed four times in San Francisco’s Bayview Heights neighborhood late Saturday night, according to police.

The stabbing was reported at 10:29 p.m. on Exeter Street, where a suspect approached the victim and struggled over his backpack, then stabbed him three times in the chest and once in the head, police said.

The suspect then fled in a vehicle described as a red Audi SUV, and the victim was taken to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
