Two earthquakes registering at magnitudes 3.0 and 3.4 hit the Bay Area the morning of Saturday, April 10, 2021, near Livermore and Calistoga, respectively. A swarm of 15 much smaller earthquakes hit near The Geysers in the 24 hours prior.
A second moderate-size earthquake in just a few hours struck the Bay Area Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
A 3.4 magnitude quake struck the North Bay at 7:13 a.m. Earlier Saturday a 3.0 magnitude temblor struck the East Bay about 9 miles northwest of Livermore and 17 miles west of Fremont.
The North Bay quake was located about 4 miles north of Calistoga, USGS officials said.
A swarm of 15 much smaller earthquakes hit near The Geysers, about 28 miles northeast of Calistoga, area over the past 24 hours. The strongest quake in that area only reached a magnitude of 2.0.
