A man has surrendered to police after he locked himself in a building as officers responded to a possible domestic incident early Thursday morning in San Francisco, police said.
Officers responded at 1:14 a.m. to the 400 block of Bay Street for a possible domestic incident and found a 32-year-old man had locked himself in the building.
Police said they did not know the status of any possible victims and residents were asked to shelter in place.
Officers closed streets and deployed a hostage/crisis negotiation team. By 8:44 a.m. the man had surrendered, roads were open again and the shelter-in-place order had been lifted.
