A man was shot and died early Wednesday morning in East Oakland, police said.
A possible shooting was reported at 2:25 a.m. in the 2200 block of East 12th Street.
According to police, officers responded and located a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Firefighters and paramedics also responded. They provided medical care, but the man died, police said.
The victim lived outside of Oakland, according to police, and his name is being withheld until his family can be told of his death.
