Contra Costa libraries to offer ‘Grab & Go’ service at end of April

Most community branches of the Contra Costa County Library will reopen on April 26 for “Grab & Go” service.

Branches will have limited occupancy, offer only select services and patrons will be asked to limit their time in the library to one hour maximum and to follow safety protocols, including social distancing and mask requirements.

Available services will include one hour of computer use, reference and account help, holds pickup, checkout and returns, browsing, copies and printing.

Because of safety concerns, other amenities will not be available, including chairs and tables for reading and studying, study and meeting rooms, and in-person events.

The Crockett and Rodeo libraries will only be offering front door service only due to size limitations, while the Pinole and Ygnacio Valley libraries are being used as Covid-19 testing sites until further notice, library officials said. All other branches will operate at their regularly scheduled hours.
