Shooting near church leaves one dead in East Oakland

An Oakland man died following a shooting last week in the eastern part of his hometown, police said Tuesday.

Officers responded at 7:10 p.m. last Wednesday to the 2400 block of East 15th Street after someone reported a shooting.

Officers arrived and located the victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died, according to police.
