Police find 26-year-old man dead in road with several gunshot wounds

A 26-year-old man died in a shooting in Concord early Monday morning, according to police.

Officers responded shortly after midnight to a report of a person down in the roadway near a shopping center in the 1100 block of Concord Avenue and arrived to find the victim dead from several gunshot wounds.

Witnesses described a dark SUV that may have been involved in the shooting, but no arrest has been made and no other suspect information was immediately available from Concord police.
