Suspects in custody after two unrelated San Jose police standoffs

San Jose police were faced with two unrelated standoff incidents early Monday morning. Suspects have since been apprehended in both situations.

A burglary suspect entered an occupied Primm Avenue home in San Jose early Monday morning and refused to come out.

Officers responded at 4:08 a.m. to the home  and evacuated the area, closing traffic from Christopher Street to Miami Drive. Residents were safely removed from the home by officers and police reported that a suspect was in custody as of 10:30 a.m.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including residential burglary.

The first situation involving a barricaded suspect began around 3:25 a.m. when officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1500 block of Meridian Avenue, in the Willow Glen neighborhood.

Meridian Avenue was closed in both directions from Alta Glen Drive to Blackford Lane.

A man and woman exited the property with their hands up around 10 a.m. and police reported shortly after that a suspect had been “safely taken into custody.”

Investigation is ongoing in both instances.
