Bullet strikes woman’s leg in afternoon Bayview shooting

A 35-year-old woman was shot in the leg in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The shooting was reported around 4 p.m. in the 600 block of Gilman Avenue.

The victim reporting hearing gunfire, then feeling a shot in her leg. She was taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are not life-threatening, police said.

Officers found a spent shell casing in the area but have not made an arrest in the shooting or released any suspect information.
