A fire displaced six people Thursday evening from a home in the unincorporated Alameda County community of Castro Valley, fire officials said.
The fire, reported at 6:39 p.m., burned a structure in the 18200 block of Lamson Road, Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Jo Leal said.
A crew arrived at 6:45 p.m. and started searching the property, Leal said. It appears the blaze started in a bedroom and spread to the attic. No one was injured.
The six people displaced are received help from the American Red Cross. Leal said fire investigators are still working to determine the cause.
