A fire displaced six people Thursday evening from a home in the unincorporated Alameda County community of Castro Valley, fire officials said.
The fire, reported at 6:39 p.m., burned a structure in the 18200 block of Lamson Road, Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Jo Leal said.
ACFD BC2, BC4, E6, E24, E25, E26, R24 & T25 were dispatched to a structure fire in Castro Valley, and quickly knocked it down. The fire started in a bedroom and extended into the attic. No injuries. Six people displaced and receiving support from the Red Cross. #ALCOFIRE pic.twitter.com/HPmzwHgO3N

A crew arrived at 6:45 p.m. and started searching the property, Leal said. It appears the blaze started in a bedroom and spread to the attic. No one was injured.
The six people displaced are received help from the American Red Cross. Leal said fire investigators are still working to determine the cause.
