Police in Alameda are advising residents to take precautions after a series of overnight prowling reports last Monday.
The reports — two on Beach Road and one on Sea Bridge Way on Bay Farm Island — were made between 3:30 and 6: 30 a.m., police said.
Both calls on Beach Road involved a subject who entered a home.
In one, a child saw a man enter her bedroom through a window and stay about 10 minutes before fleeing. Police emphasized the child was not harmed, but called the report “alarming.”
The second report involved an intruder who fled another Beach Road home after being confronted by a resident.
Those calls were followed by reports of a man seen in backyards on Sea Bridge Way.
Police said the reports each “had similar clothing descriptions … best described as wearing the following: a black puffy jacket or sweatshirt, dark pants, white shoes with blue coloring, and a white face mask.”
Police ask residents to report any suspicious behavior, advise making sure all entry points to a home are secure and say residents shouldn’t leave ladders or tools unsecured outside.
