San Francisco police say a vehicle struck a pedestrian Friday morning in the South of Market neighborhood.
Authorities said a 70-year-old woman was crossing the intersection at Seventh and Howard streets against a red light when a vehicle struck her in the roadway. The woman was transferred to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A police spokesperson said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
As of Monday morning, the woman remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition, the police spokesperson said.
